ESTABLISHMENT
In Brief
  • Established in 1956 under the Cooperative Societies Act, our organization has been committed to uplifting the lives of tribals living in undivided Andhra Pradesh. With unwavering support from the State and Central Governments, we have been able to make a significant difference in the lives of tribal communities.
  • At GCC, our primary objective is to empower and uplift tribal families. Through our MFP/AP procurement activity, we have successfully benefited approximately 1 lakh tribal families. By providing them with opportunities to engage in fair trade practices, we enable them to earn a sustainable livelihood and improve their economic well-being.
  • As part of our Coffee Project, we are proud to support 20,000 tribal families through our market intervention program. This initiative not only helps them gain access to the coffee industry but also equips them with the necessary tools and resources to thrive in the market.
  • Promoting gender equality and empowering women is a key aspect of our work. We actively engage with Women Self-Help Groups (SHGs), ensuring that they receive the support they need to succeed. Additionally, we extend our assistance to tribal youth, providing them with valuable opportunities through our value addition activity.
  • Recognizing the importance of women's economic empowerment, we have entrusted 280 Women SHGs with employment opportunities through our D.R. Depots. By promoting entrepreneurship and self-reliance, we strive to create a sustainable and inclusive environment for women in tribal communities.
  • We remain committed to catering to the essential needs of tribal communities. Through the distribution of essential commodities under the Public Distribution System (PDS) and other items through our D.R. Depots, we have positively impacted the lives of 3.30 lakh tribal cardholders residing in 5500 hamlets. Our aim is to ensure that basic necessities are accessible to every individual, thereby improving their overall quality of life.
  • Furthermore, our dedication to the welfare of tribal families extends to providing them with access to financial resources. Through our Annual Agro-credit Disbursement Plan, we have successfully covered 10,000 tribal families. By offering financial support for agricultural activities, we empower them to enhance their productivity and secure a better future.
